What is Professionalism?

First let me start by saying, this is not a debate on if sweatpants and leggings have a place in the workplace. This is a question on the existence (or non existence, depending on where you stand) of the “professional” attire that one must subscribe to in order to be granted access into the elite world of the workforce or public approval at all for that matter. While we have come a long way in our recognition and acceptance of the simple truth that one size does not fit all, we still have work to do. Exactly what this means when it comes to professional work attire is still up for debate.

Just as it took us a very long time to come to some semblance of change in thinking when it comes to our outdated and often narrow minded views on what it means to be and look professional, it will take just as much time, if not more to come to a collective place of agreement on what the acceptance of this change actually looks like for todays society.

Follow me as I explore and share my thoughts on this and more related to style, fashion and how this all affects our thoughts, opinions and how we relate and assimilate with those we encounter in our everyday world.
